BE

Students in the John Muir High School Early College Magnet Business and Entrepreneurship (BE) Academy receive a well-rounded curriculum which includes business managagement, finance, accounting, marketing and entrepreneurship.  These courses are designed to strengthen leadership, problem solving, organization, and management skills.  Each course of study provides an in-depth analysis of business, financial and corporate trends and strategies in the marketplace.  Whether students decide to go on to pursue a higher education or to start a career, they will have a comprehensive understanding of the business and financial systems that governs our society.

On campus clubs, student activities and group projects provide extensive hands-on training in business.  Students develop and present business plans in a class setting to assess overall effectiveness and areas of improvement. Peer revision and integrated projects enable you to share ideas and business plans while promoting teamwork.

YOUR BUSINESS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:
  • Participation in internships with local business partners that enhance the learning experience and bridge classroom knowledge with real-world practicality.
  • Learn to create and assess strategic business plans while sharing entrepreneurial aspirations with other students and teachers to craft a plan of action.
  • On and off campus industry specific college and career workshops and visits.
