WELCOME TO THE FRANK R. WALKUP LIBRARY AT JOHN MUIR HIGH SCHOOL!
About the Library
The Frank R. Walkup Library was completed in 1964 and dedicated to a beloved principal, Frank R. Walkup. Mr. Walkup was a respected educator in PUSD and was the principal of Muir during its "golden years" in the 1950s when the graduating classes averaged around 1000 seniors. The mid-century, stand-alone building sits in the middle of campus and continues to be a frequently used meeting space for teachers, parents, and students alike.
Vision for the Library
We want the library at Muir to be a vivacious student-centered space on campus. This is the place where students can collaborate with each other on projects, read and study in peace, and find comfort to relax and enjoy their free moments at school. Our library will be a place of inspiration, exploration, and critical thinking...a place of expression, celebration, and creativity... a place where our alumni, staff, students, families and community can come together, united in our commitment to a legacy of greatness.
We look forward to seeing you here!
